Our trip through the beautiful British countryside and the adventures on the road - including driving on the left side - were a once in a lifetime experience for our team. Yet the biggest highlight was waiting inside the Flimby factory.
The trip to Flimby was a truly eye opening experience, the impressive work ethic and skill evident was only surpassed by the phenomenal pride in working for one of the leading footwear powerhouses.
»The Trip« started with 30 colorways of the 1500 model that crossed the channel on the way from Germany to England yet it ended with 31. The additional colorway was an unique custom designed in advance by Oliver.
For the 30th birthday of the 1500, we - massive fans of the silhouette - were provided with the honor of creating our very own colorway limited to six pairs. The local crew from New Balance even stretched the production process for the last pair until we arrived in Flimby so we could enjoy the full experience.
The resulting M150043EH »THE TRIP« features a beautiful upper made from soft pigskin and breathable mesh. From dark grey on the heel to rich brown leather around the ankle, teal-green mesh on the toe box and creamy beige around the mudguard and a deep-ocean blue on the tongue - the colorway of the M150043EH »The Trip« is an homage to the flow of colors in changing landscapes on »The Trip«:
From the bright cliffs of Dover, to the deep teal-green water of the English Channel right up to the colorful variety of the Lake District, the National Park near Flimby.
Unfortunately the M150043EH »THE TRIP« won’t be available anytime soon. Only six pairs of the beautiful custom were made and the only chance to get your hands on the most limited colorway of the 1500 is via our raffle.
Update: Thanks to all participants! This time the raffle is over, but next time will come! Stay tuned with our newsletter:
