Released in 2006, the »Purple Devil« was part of a whole collaboration pack between New Balance and Solebox. It also included a 575 and 576 in a similar colorway. The sole unit combined a white midsole and a gum outsole became a »distinctive« feature of New Balance x Solebox collaborations.
