Nike Air Max 90 SP "Reverse Duck Camo"

This year we’re celebrating 30 years of the Air Max 90, and the fact that this anniversary falls into a new decade is reason enough for Nike to go wild with the design of the iconic silhouette.

Tinker Hatfield hit the ground running with the release of the Air Max 1 which showed the first visible Air-Unit ever. For the AM1’s 1990 follow-up, the Nike designer wanted to go bigger and highlighted the new silhouette’s bigger Air bag. The Air Max 90 also included ribbed plastic panels and multiple lacing options to create the perfect fit. The hard-to-miss shade remains as synonymous with the Air Max 90 as its shape.

 Popular from the start, the striking Air Max 90 symbolized a new decade. Nike designers remixed the silhouette in the years that followed, but it stays forever coveted and essential.

The Swoosh already presented numerous dope colorways of the iconic silhouette, like the »Mars Landing«, »Viotech«, »Vinyl« and the »Camowabb« last year. On the occasion of the upcoming Air Max Day, Nike presents another great OG-colorway: The classic Duck Camo from 2013!

Hued to nearly the same exact shade, the focal Infrared takes over the toe box, ankle, and the entirety of the tread in what is the most overt distinction from its muse; elsewhere, white midsole walls lead to dark black molds, collectively marking with neutrals below the titular pattern whose earth tone make-up sits in a smooth leather that’s entirely unmoved unlike the rest of the constructions. Swooshes, replete with glossy finish, are adorned by subtly indented scales, patches on the tongue flip its coloring as well, while the heels and tongue stamp.
