DON’T RUN, FLOAT!

With the brand new P.O.D. System, also known as Point Of Deflection System, adidas brings back a footwear concept from the past. Built upon a podular sole unit, the shoe unites archival elements with the latest technologies to create a new era of purposeful Footwear design. A podular system designed around the natural movement of the foot, tailored for lifestyle usage.

The sneaker takes its name from a running technology invented in 1995. The System was a unique three-dimension cushioning developed to provide shock absorption and stability in the outsole at the point of impact. Inspired by the original shoes podular design, adidas reimagined this cushioning technology for a new era, fusing three individual podular elements together to create a sneaker purpose-built for natural motion.

The heel area features the BOOST technology, first invented in 2013, which initiates the energy return transferred through the TPU. The mid foot bridge influenced by the Torsion System from 1988, supports the transition phase from heel to toe, while the EVA compound, developed in 1955, on the fore foot guarantees the smoothest transition!

All elements are good alone but greater together!
