adidas Campus 00s x »THE ART OF LACING«

There is almost no other sneaker brand that has dominated the fashion world in the past months like adidas. From Samba to Gazelle and Campus - the classic 3-stripes are currently indispensable. Our favorite style at the moment: the Campus 00s, a loving homage to the early 2000s and their spirit.

Social media is full of beautiful colorways and everyone styles their sneakers individually. But what if we not only combined our sneakers with different outfits, but also »restyled« the shoes themselves? Because it's easier than you think. By replacing the regular »factory lacing« - i.e. the lacing of the laces as the shoes are delivered - with a new »lacing techniques«.

Sneaker lacing? What? Why?
Many sneaker lovers now consider lacing to be unnecessary. Whereas 10 - 15 years ago, people still paid close attention to the lacing of their beloved shoes, »re-lacing« is now seen as a relic of days gone by that only old-school sneakerheads are still concerned with.

But we disagree, and we're not alone, because more and more fashion lovers are discovering the benefits of individual lacing techniques online!

The adidas Campus 00s with their »Fat Laces« are the perfect style for this. With the thickest of all laces, you can get really creative and the result is even more beautiful than with normal laces. It makes a huge visual difference. But see for yourself! Find out how we would lace and style the adidas Campus in our »Lacing Tutorials« and »Style Guides«.

Lacing Tutorials

We are convinced that lacing deserves a new hype! Once you've discovered the topic for yourself, you'll never be seen on the street with »factory lacing« again... You can already find some interesting tutorials on TikTok and we have also included three variations for you to make your shoes a little more individual. Lacing can be super simple but also really tricky, here you can find a tutorial for every level of difficulty.

Simple Tutorial

Remove the laces.

Insert the laces into the first two holes on the bottom right and left.

Careful! Check again that the laces are the same length on both sides!

Take the laces from the outside and insert them into the next hole on the inside. Then take the laces from the inside and insert them into the next hole on the outside.

Careful! Make sure that you always thread the laces from the outside to the inside - this creates a much neater look!

Repeat step 3 until you reach the top.

If you want to let the laces hang out or tie a bow, then thread your laces in the last hole from the inside to the outside on both sides - this will make your lacing look even cleaner!

Medium Tutorial

Remove the laces.

Thread both shoelace ends into the first two holes on the outside of the sneakers from the inside out.

Attention! Check again that the laces are the same length on both sides!

Thread the two ends on the opposite side so that they run straight/horizontally.

Thread both shoelace ends diagonally into the next two holes on the outside of the shoe.

Thread the two ends back into the opposite holes.

Repeat the steps until you have reached the top!

Pull the laces through behind the tongue and decide whether you want to tie the laces into a tie or just let them hang down.

Hard Tutorial

Remove the laces and take the second pair of laces out of the shoe box.

Take the first pair of laces and thread them into the first two holes (right and left). - In this case, the black laces.

Attention! Check again that the laces are the same length on both sides!

Add the second pair of laces and insert them into the same holes. - In this case the green laces.

Again, make sure that the laces are the same length on both sides.

Take the second pair of laces (green) and insert them into the next holes on top.

Take the first pair of laces (black). Put them back into the same holes as the previous pair (green).

Do this with alternating colors until you reach the top.

Attention! Make sure that you always thread the laces from the outside to the inside - this creates a much neater look!

Tighten the laces by pulling them out a little.

In the last holes, push the laces through the hole from the inside to the outside so that the laces simply hang down to the right and left of the shoe. If you feel like it, you can of course also tie a bow!
