Nike Air Max 1 »City Pack«

The Swoosh has presents two new Air Max 1 colorways inspired by the cities of London and Amsterdam. Both designs feature contrasting color palettes, with the cold colors of the London-themed sneaker in stark difference to the warmer tones that appear on the Air Max 1 »Amsterdam.«

Nike Air Max 1 London

Dressed in different shades of grey, the London Air Max 1 is constructed from a range of textures including mesh, suede and corduroy in reference to the city’s architectural diversity. Arguably the stand-out feature of the sneaker is on the heel, where an embroidery of the curving River Thames runs through the Nike Swoosh.

Nike Air Max 1 Amsterdam

The Air Max 1 »Amsterdam« pays tribute to the City of Sin with design elements ranging from the obvious to the discreet. Inspired by Amsterdam's decadent Golden Age that helped shape the city, the sneaker is made up of luxurious, tactile materials such as suede, nubuck and heavy tumbled leather. The brown and red hues nod to the city centre's brick buildings and pebbled roads, which are also reflected in the mix of textures in the materials. The pop of green in the Swoosh is taken from the traditional canal house doors and window frames. Finally, no Amsterdam design would be complete without a map of the canals and the famous XXX coat of arms, which are embroidered on the heel and side-panel respectively.
