In 1979, the Air Tailwind with the famous Nike Air technology was released for the first time. The next eight years, it was felt rather than seen. Inspired by the “inside-out“ architecture of the Pompidou Centre in Paris, Nike designer Tinker Hatfield had the idea of showing people the Air technology through a window to the people. With the Air Max 1, the Air element became visible in 1987 and the revolution began.

On 26 March 2020, we observe Air Max Day and mark the 30th anniversary of the Air Max 90. With its »Duck Camo« comeback, the iconic silhouette makes a dope start into the Air Max month!
